Great example for how things extend, made their way through history.....nowadays collectors should keep that in mind!
Or the other way round, connoisseurs only get granted their “real collectors passport” if they can proof, to have seen the movie ..... 8-)

A Japanese friend of mine is quite superstitious, and becomes visibly uncomfortable around certain antique objects. He says it's potentially dangerous to invite spirits into my home that may reside within the armors. He doesn't visit me much anymore, and prefers to meet at the bar down the street.

I have heard the stigma is still worse with swords than armor, as they are life takers rather than lifesavers...

 ...So you need a well chosen balance between swords and armor in you collection..... 8-)

Agreed Uwe!

Because hiring a Buddhist monk to chant and burn sage is becoming a nuisance. :D

Cousin Henry,
A great thread that confirms we are a small community and only temporary custodians to these pieces of art.
This sentiment of custodian is one that I have always believed in.

Cousin Richard!

Agreed!

It's such a pleasure and duty to take care of these pieces of history... yes, our time is fleeting, but the armor was here before us and as good custodians we will ensure it be here when we are gone.

What I love about our esoteric group is that we can appreciate and sympathize our addiction together, you know the disease we all share! It's kind of like a recovery group, but one that inspires and enables.

It's great to be part of the JAS , since our families, wives, girlfriends and civilian friends are not always so understanding!
(Especially given the price tags involved.) ;)

best,
Henry
