I’d be interested to know how many meanings are contained in the single word Susumé.

Was the Lord Hōjō famous for ordering his (mounted) troops forward with this word?

Because it is written in katakana, it could be what you say to a horse to ‘advance’ (from 進める susumeru.) “Proceed!” or “Gee-up!” “Susumé!!!”
But as a ‘recommendation’ (o-susumé) it could also be an exhortation to go to the exhibition, or even to buy the catalogue.
