Book Review: Katchū kozane kenkyū nōto by Motoo Yamagishi, Yorio Kanayama

Title: Katchū kozane kenkyū nōto
Author: Motoo Yamagishi, Yorio Kanayama
Publisher: Rēvukku, 2006
Language: Japanese
Illustrations: Black and white pictures
Other: 565 pages, 21.5 cm by 16 cm, hardcover
Topics: Katchū
ID: B0259

Nice small size but thick book is quite unique. It contains only research about armour kozane with many measurements, diagrams and pictures. A work of love. The writer is a member of the society, and the text was checked by famous armour researcher Motoo Yamagishi, who wrote himself the seminal works on old style Japanese armours.

研究ノート is 'Study/Research Notes'. (A typical Japanese humble understatement!)

Very thorough, and probably the kind of work that Arthur would like to get under his belt.

Indeed a monumental work on kozane. Maybe a subject to translate?
