Shinsa

Post by Luc Taelman »

Next shinsa will be held on October 10 (Sun) at Kawasaki city, Sumiyoshi shrine.
We are going to start application reception from 9/21∼10/1.
The quota is 50 items maximum.
For non-Japanese, if you want local help, we can bring you in contact with a middleman. PM us.
more info about the shinsa can be found here:

The nkbkhk shinsa is an important body, which for more than 60 years has been quoting masterpieces, publishing them and thus preserving them for posterity. It is the only association that issues certificates on a neutral basis and without commercial interests. The panel members of the shinsa are known, their names are mentioned on the papers.

Those who submit pieces also ensure that their (Jujo) top items are published and thus pictural preserved for the future.

Of course, a publication in the jujo bunka shiryo books is a prestigious affair. It is a unique photographic reference work of top quality armors and related material. This adds value to the items.

Whether we like it or not, many armors will decay with the passage of time.
It is our job to prevent this from happening, but we must remain realistic. Not all pieces are kept in optimal conditions, nor do we know where they will end up in the future.

By archiving and publishing them this way, the owner contributes to long-term preservation and study.
