We had a very interesting 4 th symposium last friday. Again, we were introduced into the many secrets of the Japanese Armor.
Thanks to all attendees, it was great to meet all of you in especial several new members,
Special thanks to our lecturors:
John Byck, assistant curator
Kanno san, senior Katchukai member and Soma noma oi veteran
Markus Sesko, visiting researcher at the Met.
And also a big thank you to the JAS team who made it possible again : Henry Jones and Jillian, Markus Sesko, Uwe Saclowski, Jo Anseeuw, and our vice John of course.
Today, we visit one of the top collections in the NY region!

After the dinner, we were invited to the opening of the Tetsuya Noguchi exhibition. The artist was also present.

Sunday we took the bus to the New Jersy countryside. We could visit a more than interesting collection, with the focus on muromachi and momoyama kabuto. The owner organised a super bbq in the sun on the terrace in front of his house.
Great fun!!!

Today, we visited the Samurai museum in Dallas,
Where Mr and Ms Barbier-Mueller received us in one of their restaurants. Afterwards, mr Gabriel showed us his many latest acquisitions.
The farewell-diner in Tex Mex style was the end of another great journey.
Thanks To all who made this possible again!

It was awesome. So great to see so many like minded friends, and on top of that, like a bonus, many, many amazing pieces.

We are already brainstorming about the next edition :-)
