the Myochin renaissance style

Post by Luc Taelman »

This kabuto (I do not know if it is signed) is made in the typical Edo Myochin style. It is an over the top copy of a kamakura kabuto.
The nice menpo is a fine example of the Myochin uchidachi skills.
I have seen kabuto like this one for sale as genuine kamakura... keep your eyes open!

Possibly, but it also could have been a late Iwai

From my experience this distinct roundish kamakura hachi style is a key feature of many edo Myōchin armors.
Always eager to learn! (*^-^)b
